Eden’s pawsteps were light as she made her way up the valley. Night had just started receding from the lands of the Rosa Ancra, the sky shot through with pinks and oranges as the sun as dawn marched on. The alpha she-wolf quickened her pace; she wanted to get home in time to greet her pack as they emerged, and make sure everyone had remained safe during the night. She was particularly concerned about her adopted daughter, Crista, who had vanished some time before to rescue a pup from what sounded like the ravishes of the Ignum Mortis pack. As always, Eden admired her bravery, but she still wished the half-grown wolf would have more thought for her own safety.
Naturally, Eden, had wanted to stay and wait for her adoptive daughter, but eventually the strain of waiting had gotten too much and she’d left to go and hunt. She wasn’t actually hungry, and the hare she now carried in her mouth would probably end up going to the pups, but hunting had made her feel better. Now as she made her way back home, her heart was heavy again. She decided that if Crista wasn’t back by the time Eden got there, Eden would leave her sister with the pups and go and find her herself.
Finally arriving home, the first thing she saw was that her daughter was not present. Her heart sank and she moved to the centre of the den, looking for her sister; she would have to go now, go and find her adopted daughter before she was taken by the Ignum Mortis as well, and she needed Magdalene to babysit for her.

((OOC: By Crista being away I'm referring to her going out to meet Aedon, so I guess that means this thread takes place the next morning, just before the two come back to the den =) ))

OOC: Sorry the reply took long Crista is gonna be abducted... [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][bg=000000]
Crista turned. Eden was home! She probably didn't see her though, because her jaw was full of hare. She watched her mother go into the den, Charlie and Timmy begging for the food she had. Crista smiled. Charlie and Timmy would love to see Aedon. The thought of the pups playing with the Flareite. Crista smiled, then began to trot over to the den, then something caught her in her thoughts.
She turned quickly, only managing to see a black shadow, dark in the pale light. The glowing red eyes...she remembered them from somewhere, but now wasn't the time for thinking. She turned away from the den, desperately trying to lead the beast away from the den. She only managed to get a few metres away before the black monster tackled her, forcing her onto the hard ground.
*****
Only when she awoke from her coma did she realised what had just happened. She looked around dozily, piecing together the mystery bit by bit. The dark forest was familiar, and the scent was revolting, with a slight trace of death. Crista knew where she was immediately. She had been captured and abducted by the Ignum Mortum Pack. She didn't feel bruised or hurt, so she must have been carried there. She wasn't surprised that the Ignum wolves had the strength to carry her, she was just surprised that they had the thought.
Suddenly, a growl of a voice startled her, and only then did she realise she was trapped in the hollow of an old oak. The only way out was to be let free. The voice echoed in her head as she stared at the beast who had captured her, a black wolf with glowing red eyes. "You killed my brother...and now you will pay!" the wolf snarled before rearing and opening his jaws to bit Crista's throat. She closed her eyes. It was the end...wait, no it wasn't. A brown wolf nudged the other, whispering and growling to it, so quiet that Crista could barely hear. She caught the words 'no', and 'wrong one'. Did Aedon's scent rub off on the dead Ignum? The brown wolf turned to Crista. "I will deal with you later." He said, grinning, a terrible sight. He then turned to the other wolves. "Go! Find the killer!" Then, they all set off, and only then did Crista realise that the purple pup, Aedon, was in mortal danger. “NO!" she yelled, before the black wolf laughed evilly and kicked his back foot in her face, blacking her out again. What have I done to deserve this?

A sudden commotion outside caused Eden to stop dead, the rabbit dropping from her parted jaws. She turned abruptly and headed as fast as she could back outside. Now that she no longer had the rabbit clogging up her senses, she could detect Crista’s scent, along with a strange scent she didn’t recognise. Both scents were very fresh, but neither Crista nor any stranger was in sight. Eden inhaled deeply, pushing down the panic that tried to climb up her chest. She put her nose to the ground and followed Crista’s trail, though this abruptly ended and was replaced by that of the stranger. It didn’t take long to peace together what had happened; Crista had been physically carried away.
A low growl left Eden’s throat. She was dimly aware of her pups pestering her with questions as to what was going on, but she merely barked sharp orders to stay with their aunt in a tone that broached no argument. Without waiting another moment, she did what she had no choice but to do; she set off after daughter. She travelled as fast as she could while still keeping track of the kidnapper’s scent. It was hard, for the wolf had taken a convoluted and twisting path and the undergrowth impeded her progress, but eventually she started detecting other scents interwoven with the first, scents that were similar to that of the kidnapper, but not quite the same. With a sense of dread, she slowly came to realise where she was. There was only one pack in the area she had followed the trail to, and that was the murderous and sadistic Ignum Mortis wolves.
Nevertheless, Eden couldn’t give in now. She slowed to a walk, keeping silent as she stalked through the other pack’s territory. She could detect traces of Crista scent now, mingled with that of the other wolves. Finally she crept into the Ignum den, where she saw a hulking black male in front of a large oak tree. Steeling herself, Eden gave out a short growl. “You have my daughter somewhere nearby.” She stated bluntly, purple eyes flashing, “I want her back.” Her tone was neutral, for she wanted to avoid a struggle, but there was no doubting the firmness of her voice.

OOC: Is it okay if Aedon joins in? [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][bg=000000] Crista opened her eyes. Everything was blurry, a tangle of black and red. Four words span round in her head, over and over. "I want her back." It sounded familiar, but in the fatigue she was in, it was hard to tell. Then, a growl emitted form above her. "Hey, you, try and walk backwards." The voice was serious, but very panicked. Crista could tell this was no devil. She pushed lamely, her head drooping and her tail flat on the ground, and she closed her eyes, thinking she would hit the back of the tree she was put in. But she didn't. It was an illusion! The tree was used because it was like a cell, you couldn't look behind, you could only look forward, making it seem there was a back to the tree, even though there was a gaping hole. But who was the wolf helping her? He smelt like the Ignum wolves, but he was helping her escape.
Crista pushed further, finding her way out of the tree, and groggily tried to stand up. The wolf who had helped her was right next to her. He was brown, with black patches, and he had yellow eyes. Not red. He sounded like the Ignum wolves, but what he said was different. "I want you to run silently over past that tree, then run back to where you came from. Understand? Now, Go!" he said, sounding panicked, a trace of Ignum in his voice. Crista didn't dare disobey. She sprinted to the tree, and the owner of the voice who had spoke earlier, was there. Eden.
The brown wolf had told Crista to run, but not without Eden. But she couldn't fight the hulking black beast in front of her in the state she was in. She was tired, confused, worried, not the perfect fighting condition. The only way was out. Crista had spent her life saving others, helping them in their life, and now wasn't going to be any different. She growled, then jumped in front, almost falling over as a result of her tiredness. But, she still had the courage, and she corrected herself, ears laid back, tail straight, and teeth bared. “I want you to step away from my mother, you filthy bastard...” she growled, trying to act tough. She knew it wasn't going to work, but she had to keep trying. She quickly whispered to her mother.“Mum...I want you to run....in three...two...one....NOW!" Crista jumped at the black wolf, and he snapped at her back. She wasn't going to give up, not until she was sure her mother was safe. She jumped off of the offender, growling and fluffing up her fur. The black wolf bared his teeth.
Crista knew this would have to do. She turned quickly, and ran, forgetting the speed and strength of the Ignum Mortum. They could outrun a hare with ease, and Crista was no faster than an elk. She kept going though, even though her joints ached from the sudden exercise. She began to slow down. She remembered her mother, and she wasn't sure if she had made it back or not. She slowed even more, for the den was nearby.

Eden glared at the black wolf, even as he stared back. She knew that, physically, she was no match for him, and if he attacked her, she would just have to try and dodge around him and try to find Crista herself. She was still hoping that the wolf would give Crista up without a struggle, but as she looked into those evil red eyes, she started to think that that was unlikely. She waited for his response, afraid but unyielding.
After a few moments she became aware of a commotion behind her, though she didn’t want to look away from the black wolf unless he used her distraction to launch a deadly attack. Though when a familiar shape leaped forward, she couldn’t help but look. Relief flooded through Eden as she recognised Crista, weak and exhausted, but clearly alive, and seemingly free from any major injuries. When the younger wolf told her to run, she prepared herself, and when the count reached zero, she turned and retreated into the trees, but she didn’t run. She could see that Crista had some sort of plan, which was why she listened, but she could also see that Crista was in a very tired and weakened state. There was still a high chance she could need Eden’s help, and so Eden wasn’t going anywhere.
As Crista and the black wolf exchanged blows, Eden watched, every muscle tensed, and only when the younger wolf had gone past her did she follow. In their current states, Eden was the stronger and faster of the two, and so she kept behind, partly so that she wouldn’t inadvertently leave Crista behind, and partly so that she could offer comfort and encouragement.
“C’mon darling, not far now, keep going, darling.” She gasped between breaths, and she kept this up as they ran into more familiar territory. She tried to look behind to see if the black wolf was pursuing them, but it was hard to run like that and she quickly looked back around. Her plan was simply to get to a defensible position where they could both fend off the black wolf, if he was still chasing, without fear of being attacked from behind. She would have gone back to the den and enlisted Magdalene’s help, but her pups were there, and there was no way she was going to put them in such danger.
“There!” She yelled, pointing with her muzzle towards a rock ledge with a shallow indent that would protect their backs and sides, only leaving their front ends open.

OOC: ... [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][bg=000000] Crista kept up with her mother, side by side, running for dear life. The scent of the Rosa Ancra territory was coming closer, and the lands grew greener by the second. Crista's legs began to stop aching. She was getting back to normal, speeding up, almost overtaking her mother. Her reassuring voice could be heard, telling her that it wasn't far, to keep going, and she did. Eden gestured with her muzzle to move to a ledge, with an indent, but Crista was unsure why.
Curiosity began to take over. Even though it was better not to know, Crista looked behind her. She gasped. The black wolf was only a few meters away, teeth bared and growling, with a brown wolf behind it. She turned to her mother. “They are right behind us!” she yelled, sprinting towards the indent. It now made sense. It was like a trench, it left only their fore parts exposed. It was perfect.
Crista followed her mother into it, and it felt great knowing she was protected. But the black wolf was coming. So was the brown one. Wait, wasn't that brown one the wolf who had aided her in escape? She couldn't tell at the speed the two were running. Crista growled, ears laid back. She had to get ready for this, and also had to protect her mother. There was no way she was going to lose her family again.
Crista came back to reality with a painful blow to the face. Eyes narrowing, she sliced the black wolfs jaw, while he tried to bite her, and she was hit with a paw in the face for it. She looked around. Where was Aedon when you needed her? And where was the brown wolf? She didn't have time to look at her mother. She jumped out of the indent and onto the black wolf, gripping onto his back with her claws, hoping that Eden would be alright.
(OOC: sorry that took so long XD)

“I know!” Eden called when Crista told her how close their chasers were. They were within hearing distance, their rough and heavy panting sending chills up her spine, and she was dismayed to realise that there was more than one of them. That great black wolf must have roped in a pack-mate to help him. Eden’s voice sounded odd, hard and angry and distorted by her breathing, but the anger was not directed at her adoptive daughter.
Once in the dubious shelter of the rock-face, the she-wolf span around to face their attackers. Pressing herself closely against the back wall, she dropped into a crouch so that she could not be easily tackled and made to fall over and bared her fangs, a furious growl emanating from her throat as her purple eyes darted from wolf to wolf. The brown looked slightly smaller she thought, so she concentrated on the black; Crista was not yet full-grown, after all. She also had a feeling that the black wolf was the alpha male of his pack, or at least dominant over his brown companion, and so it was only right that she fight him.
“Whatever you do, don’t jump out or try to tackle them.” She whispered hoarsely to Crista, “We need to stay shielded on all sides; let them come to us to have their noses bloodied.” She stopped talking at that point because the black wolf had grown tired of their stand-off and attacked, leaping up and trying to come down on her back. Eden managed to half-dodge, her movements restricted in the shallow cave, and caught his paw on her neck. With a flick of her head, she managed to catch his paw in her mouth and bit down hard. With an angry yowl, the male drew back, teeth bared again. His paw was bleeding, but unfortunately Eden did not think it was permanently damaged; he still put weight on it.

AEDON Nightingale, the bird of nigh
Aedon could scent the trouble. At least, the scent of Ignum wolves was enough to tell the pup that. Four sets of paw prints, and four scents. One she recognised as Crista. She had her nose buried in the ground, tracking her scent. Growls and snarls were heard up ahead, and Aedon's muzzle twitched in a snarl. Sparks danced on her pelt, and suddenly a flame erupted around her. Using the release of Carbon dioxide, Aedon caught a lift in the air, the fire pushing her up, allowing flight.
The fire wavered around her, forming a new shape. A giant wolf made of fire surrounded the pup, being controlled by her movements. She spied Crista, and another wolf, and two ignum wolves. A screeching howl bellowed from the fire-beast, and Aedon shot down towards the fray, a low snarl coming from her maw. The black wolf immediately turned, looked shocked, but knowing the danger of fire, turned tail and fled.
Aedon rounded on the brown wolf, landing behind him. "Go! Or I'll kill you!" he snarled, her voice coming in a deep, gravelly growl. Then the fiery wolf wavered, and then went out, leaving a exhausted and weak Aedon behind. She had used used up all her energy, and gone behind the omit of her powers. A weak whine fell from her jowls, and Aedon's vision became blurry, She fell, her paws giving in. Then she blacked out. ------------------------------ words ;; 238 aedon's mood ;; pissed off ooc ;; I was told I had permission to post

Kyrios ran as fast as he could to catch up with his father. He was going to kill the she-wolf he had just rescued! One was going to die because of his actions. Kyrios was ashamed. but he kept going. The ground was soft and moist, the grass green, unlike the hard forest floor. He loved it, but had to keep focused on the task ahead. Finally, they came to a stop. Kyrios saw two she-wolves now, obviously wanting to fight, but Kyrios stood back. He wasn't going to fight in a battle with females.
Just then, the female Kyrios had rescued jumped onto his father's back, tearing at his skin, trying to bite and scratch him, but she was struggling. He didn't know what to do. Kill his own father, or save him. It was a hard decision. He had to make up his mind. But more was to come. Kyrios' father turned, eyes wide with fear, as a deafening, angry howl filled the air, and only when his father ran did Kyrios realise the danger.
A massive fiery wolf growled above him. What was this beast? Was it a monster from Hell? Kyrios growled, merely a whimper in his state of fear. He turned briefly to the wolves behind him. They had stopped fighting, still in the indent they were in. Suddenly, the fire wolf diminished, becoming a purple ball of fur. Or was it a purple pup? Kyrios walked over to it. His heart still beating rapidly, he kept his distance. The pup-creature was alive, it was breathing, but it was definitely unconscious. He turned to the she-wolves. “Do you know what the hell this thing is?” He said in a somewhat non-Ignum voice.

A horrid howl distracted Eden as she glared as she glared at her aggressors, and despite herself, she looked away. To her horror, something that resembled a wolf made of fire was falling from the sky, straight towards them. She barely noticed as the black wolf turned and fled; she was too busy backing further into the recess, mouth open in shock. She had never seen anything like it before, but her every instinct told her that this thing was bad. She suddenly hated herself from backing herself and Crista into a place from which they could not easily flee.
Then though, the fiery demon seemed to waver, like a flame in a light breeze, then extinguished itself. For a moment, Eden was near-blind, she’d been staring at the fireball for so long, and at first she thought the beast had gone entirely. It didn’t take long, though, for a small shape to resolve itself where the fire had been. The thing had the shape of a pup, but was purple in hue, as if the fire hadn’t been weird enough. She stayed put when the brown wolf went to look at it, and was rather surprised to hear him talk to them in a non-aggressive way. She supposed shock could make wolves do unexpected things. She did not answer his question, she merely sat down and wrapped her tail over her forepaws, her purple gaze focused on the brown wolf. There might have been something very unusual in their presence, but Eden was not about to forget the enemy that had so recently pursued her and Crista through the forest.

Kyrios wandered over to the silent she-wolf. She was obviously not going to reply, as she had sat down, a careful look on her face. Kyrios was sure not to go too near her. The she-wolf obviously thought Kyrios was one of the fearsome Ignum wolves, proud to kill at desire, but he wasn't like that. He was scared to kill, worried that others would be frightened, and he hated to see woe in others.
“I'm not like the other wolves,” He assured the she-wolves. “I was the one who rescued this wolf.” He gestured to the female he had rescued. Thinking like a gentleman, he didn't want to scare the wolves, so he decided to introduce himself. “My name is Kyrios. Omega of the horrible Ignum Mortum pack, and definitely not proud to be.” Kyrios' last words were merely a mutter, thinking about why he didn't leave the pack. Oh right, my father. Great. With a look of disappointment, Kyrios spoke again. “And who do I have the pleasure of meeting and saving today?" he asked, in a cheerful, friendly tone.
Kyrios remembered the pup. He gazed at it, marvelling at the purple fur that enveloped it. It was beautiful. He stared again at the she-wolves. “Could you give me a moment? Thanks.” He wandered over to the pup, again sniffing it, making sure it didn't pass while he was talking. Safe. It was still breathing, and smelled disgusting, like an extinguished bush-fire. He shook his head, then nudged it, trying to wake it up.
“Come on little buddy, come on...wake up...” He whispered in it's ear.

OOC: Sorry I didn't reply, have been busy with homework >.< [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][bg=000000] Crista stared at the fiery beast like it had come before. It was as though she had met the creature before. As the flames began o flicker like a candle in the wind, a purple wolf emerged from the monster. It was Aedon! Crista instinctively tilted backwards to leap forward, but in the place she was in, getting out was awkward.
A sweet, male voice echoed in her tiring head. She looked up. Was it that brown wolf who had rescued her? She couldnt be too sure. All she knew was that he was asking her name. Searching her fatigued memory, she realised what her name was. “I'm Crista. I think...” she said, her head hung low. She decided the best thing to do was rest, to get her energy levels back up, so that she could get up and hunt in the morning. Her growling stomach wasn't going to give up yet. She managed to squeeze and turn her way out of the ditch, and then she headed back to where she believed the den to be.
***** As she headed into the mouth of the cave, she saw the two pups sleeping soundly, snoring and muttering in their slumber. She smiled, a warm sight was all she needed to get most of her energy back up. As she settled down next to Magdalene, Eden's sister, she wondered about Aedon, the brown wolf, and all her adventures she had been through, as it put her mind at rest, and she finally shut her eyes as she fell asleep.

Everything was fuzzy. And weird. Nothing made sense to the little pup. SHe could hear a distant male voice. Then a female voice. Then everything was silent for a bit. Then the male voice was closer. She could hear him. “Come on little buddy, come on...wake up...” she whined, a whimper more like. Her fur was shorter than it was earlier. Her extensive usage of fire had burnt it down. Aedon blinked open her eyes, letting out a weak moan as the world spun. She didn't like this.
Everything suddenly came into focus, and she let out a strangled cry as she recognised the wolf standing over her. Him! A small spark appeared on her fur, burnt for a few seconds then went out. He fur wasn't long enough to support a flame! In a natural reaction, Her spines slid out, a beads of venom appearing at the tips. She struggled to her paws, then backed away from the brown wolf, growling.
Too exhausted to do anything else, she just stood there, growling, her fur slowly gutting longer, which your could see if you looked close enough. Her venom stimulated the faster growth of her fur. Handy at a situation at this. Her back erupted into flames, her fur now long enough.

Kyrios stared at the pup, when suddenly, it blinked, whined, and got up and stood firm and strong, obviously wanting a fight. Kyrios stood, completely unafraid of the pup, until he saw the spines growing out of it's back. These spines seemed to be ejecting something, a liquid, and this seemed to scare Kyrios. Just keep your ground, Kyrios. Show you are part of the Ignum Mortem... he thought, slowly backing away. What scared him most was when the purple thing erupted into flames.
“Uh.....maybe we could work this out?” he said hopefully, but the pup continued to growl. Only then did he realise how weak he was. Are you serious, Kyrios? You scared of a pup? his conscience seemed to say. His devil was trying to escape. Attempting to hold it back, he turned and fled, trying to get as far away as possible from his attacker. Ashamed and embarrassed, he turned around slightly, deciding to come around his attacker, getting it from behind.
Managing to get closer, Kyrios went around, sneaking from behind, when his angel conscience took over. Kyrios, are you really going to hurt a pup? That's evil and cruel. it said, echoing and controlling him. His Ignum side growled at him.
Naughty or nice. What to choose, Kyrios, what to choose.
